Usually the level assessment exam was scheduled on Saturdays but due to a gathering of the teachers in Kyoto, the exam had to be scheduled on Friday. After the three hours the exam lasted, students started exiting the classrooms they had taken it in. They were either waiting in the hallways for their friends or, those who had already met up with them, were heading for the school exit. Classes had been canceled because of the exam and nobody was complaining.
"Hey! How'd it go?"
Shou looked up at the person who had put a hand on his shoulder. He was sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall in the turning point of the hallway, waiting for Akiya, Hiroto and Nao. He got up, dusted himself off and started talking to Tora. Might as well not be alone while he waited.
"It was okay – harder than I expected but okay. You're awfully perky so I guess it was okay for you too."
"Thanks to you, Chita!" Tora grinned and caught Shou's nose between his index and middle finger and squeezed.
Shou slapped his hand away hard. "Stop that!" He rubbed his abused, red turned nose. "Don't look now, Tarzan, but here comes Jane. I better go."
Tora turned his head in the direction Shou was looking and saw Uruha looking around the hallway, most likely trying to find him. He sighed and turned back to Shou but was met with air. He looked around but he couldn't catch a glimpse even of his friend's head.

Shou had descended the steps in front of the school entrance when he turned around after hearing his name called. He saw Hiroto, Akiya and Nao coming out and smiled at them, his three friends and classmates smiling back.
"So, where are we going?" Hiroto asked.
"How does the park sound? It's still warm and sunny. We should take advantage of this weather while it lasts." Akiya said and they all nodded in compliance.
"Sorry, guys but I can't come with. I made other plans." Nao said scratching the back of his head.
"And are these plans called 'Saga'?" Hiroto wiggled his eyebrows while Akiya and Shou smirked.
"What's it to you?" Nao eyed Hiroto dangerously, which caused the shortest of the four to start laughing.
A beeping caught their attention and they looked at Shou. He took out his cell phone and saw he had one new message.
From: Tora
Change of plans. I can't come to tutoring tonight. Something came up. I'm sorry but I promise that tomorrow I'll be there.
"Aw, you're being stood up? That must really suck!" Hiroto said as he patted Shou's back. He had snuck up behind Shou and read the message. "Come on, Akiya. We need to raise Shou's morale!" He hooked his arms with Shou's and Akiya's and led them to the gate. "Have a nice time with your other plans, Nao." he threw over his shoulder, smirking.
Nao shook his head and jumped when he felt someone's breath on his ear.
"Was he talking about me?"
Nao turned around and heaved a sigh of relief at seeing Saga. The blonde chuckled at Nao's reaction and put his arm around the shorter student's shoulders and led him to the student parking lot.
"So, I heard you like Starbucks."
Nao blushed at the contact and proximity of Saga's body to his own and nodded smiling as an answer to Saga's statement. The two of them stopped and looked to their right when they heard whistling and Nao immediately looked away when he saw Saga's supposed friends. The blonde patted him on the back and said to go and find his motorcycle in the parking lot and wait for him.
"Didn't know you went for the cute and cuddly ones, Saga."
"Shut it, Yomi!"
"Oh, don't be so defensive. We're all friends here." Ruka put his arm around Saga's shoulders and gave him a one-armed hug. "Even I don't hold anything against you."
"Why would you?" Saga looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Because you beat me to the punch. I've been trying to get the little Pooh-boy to say something to me for a while now. I even pushed him into the lake in the park once just so I would help him out."
Saga's eyes widened. "You what?! I don't even know why I'm here talking to you. What does it matter to you guys if I'm going after Nao or not?"
"Because I don't give up easily." Ruka said and winked at Saga. "As long as you're not officially together, watch out, blondie."
"Whatever."
Saga may have acted like he didn't care or didn't believe Ruka but he knew very well what he was capable of and that he always kept to his word. He might not have admitted before but Saga was growing really attached to Nao and he didn't want to see him fall in Ruka's clutches.

Shoes that won't slip, dry hands, nothing that can get caught in the splinters, notebook – everything check. Shou climbed out of his window and into the tree between his and Tora's houses. Moving carefully from branch to branch, he ended up heaving himself through Tora's window and gasped at what he saw.
"Um... uh, s-sorry to disturb you."
Tora and Uruha pulled apart from the heated kiss they were in and looked at Shou – one was surprised, one was irritated, both hadn't been expecting him.
"I knocked on your front door and nobody answered, I called your home phone but nobody answered there either and your cell phone's dead." Shou was blushing furiously at having dropped in on the extremely intimate moment between the two and was too embarrassed to look at Tora as he was talking.
"Um, yeah, my parents are out of town for a week. I guess I didn't hear." Tora said awkwardly.
"Well, I thought I'd give you this." Shou said and held out the notebook. "Since you said you couldn't make it tonight, I picked out some exercises for you so we wouldn't fall too behind."
"Thanks." Tora said and came over to Shou, taking the notebook.
"I guess I'd better get going and leave you two alone." By then he was already half through the window, ready to jump into the tree and go back to his own room.
"Shou..." Tora turned around after he placed the notebook on his desk, hand outstretched, but the brown haired teen was already gone.
"Didn't think he would leave." said Uruha as he wrapped his arms around Tora's waist. He started kissing the brunette's neck to get his mind off Shou. "Come on, baby. Leave him. I'm here and I'm all for the taking."
Uruha turned Tora around and brought their lips together, continuing the heated kiss that had been interrupted. He felt Tora's fingers running through his hair, the brunette deepening the kiss more and the dirty blonde smirked as much as he could. He guided the two of them to the bed and laid down, bringing Tora on top of him.
"Make me moan and scream louder than you ever did."
***
Shou was wrapping up his homework and he almost dropped his pen when he heard the sounds coming from the house next door. He didn't think he would manage to do anything else, so he closed the window, pulled the curtains and in five minutes was in bed.
Tora's bedroom window was still open, which caused Shou to hear quite well Uruha's pleasure filled moans, even though his own window was closed.
With a little difficulty, he fell asleep and as he was in dream land, a lone tear rolled down his cheek and onto his pillow.
