Chapter 1
The school grounds were filled with students still talking and hanging out before the bell signaled time to get inside and go to class. There were groups scattered all over the courtyard and each one seemed to be in a lively debate about something or other: there were a few junior girl groups drooling over the senior boys, the junior boys were a bit jealous because they were almost invisible even after a whole term and the seniors weren't paying any attention to anything happening around them which included juniors – they were too cool for that.
The group that was playing soccer the previous day was situated next to the stairs that led into the school. They seemed to be waiting for someone.
"Hey there, Squirrel boy, Pooh-chan!" Aoi yelled in the direction of two seniors. They were shorter than most of the members from the group. The taller of the two had a pair of glasses although he didn't necessarily need them while the shorter had a guitar case strapped on his back next to his back pack. They ignored Aoi's greeting, knowing it was better to not get involved with those guys.
"Leave them alone, Aoi. You seem to have a passion for calling people names."
The taller of the two seniors chanced a glance in the direction of the one who had spoken in their defense and recognized him from his days in elementary school. What was his name?
"You're getting soft, Saga." That was his name. Saga. He didn't seem to be the type to hang around with these trouble makers, not in elementary and not even in high school. Why he chose to though, was something that got the 'Pooh-chan' senior thinking.
"Nao, you still on Earth?"
He shook his head when he felt his friend poke his arm.
"Yeah, Nao. See something you like around here?" Uruha was just as bad as Aoi when it came to mocking and teasing people. It didn't matter to him if his victims were juniors or middlers or seniors – he got as many laughs from all categories.
Nao frowned in the direction of the group and turned his eyes to his friend. "Come on, Hiroto. Let's go." They didn't throw a second glance at the six members of the group.
"Dude, Uruha, you're evil." a blonde with a noseband patted Uruha on the back. He was known to be the muscles of the group and for good reason – he had the shortest fuse and an ego two times the size of his head. Whoever crossed him didn't end up in too much of a healthy position.
"Hey, Uruha, what do you think about that male PMS thing?"
"Yomi, I thought I told you to stop with that. The only way a man is going to bleed is if Reita, for example, got a little upset." Uruha reasoned and put his arm around Reita's shoulders to emphasize his example.
"Then I suggest not turning around if you don't want to be proven wrong."
Subtlety and obedience were never strong feats in Uruha so when he was told to not turn around he did just that and he did it with such speed he almost did a 360° pirouette thanks to inertia. Sure enough he wasn't at all pleased at what he saw and Yomi and Ruka grabbed his arms so he wouldn't do anything crazy.
"Then we'll talk some more tonight, okay?"
"Actually, we can talk some more after school. I promise this time I won't leave you waiting."
Both Shou and Tora laughed, knowing they would make a good joke between them with that. Possibly even a subject to blackmail/cause the other to feel overly guilty.
"Looks like the jackal queen saw us. Don't worry, I won't let her get you." Tora said after noticing Uruha was looking quite unhappy in their direction and put his arm around Shou as if shielding him.
"I leave you alone for the rest of the night and already your hands start travelling. How can I trust you again?"
Tora laughed at Uruha's act but he knew his boyfriend didn't regard Shou with good eyes. Uruha made it very clear to him from the get-go when he saw how long Tora and Shou were together. However, the brunette wasn't going to cut ties with Shou and he made that clear to Uruha. The blonde didn't take kindly to that but he either accepted it as it was or nothing. But that didn't mean he had to like it when he saw Tora with Shou.
"I'm wounded you think so little of me, Urupon!" Tora patted Shou on the back when they were in front of the stairs and he smiled at him. "I'll see you after school."
Shou nodded and went on into the school, suppressing the chill Uruha's stare caused. He was sure the blonde's eyes were burning holes in the back of his head.
"How've you been, drama queen?" Tora asked Uruha and kissed him.
"I've been better, no thanks to you."
Tora raised an eyebrow at Uruha's serious tone. He was sure a few moments ago he had been joking but now he was really upset. That realization got the brunette a bit upset himself.
"I told you I'm not going to cut ties with him. I thought you learned to accept it but if you start chewing me out over it maybe I should rethink this relationship."
"Whoa! Don't go there, dude!" Yomi butted in.
"Whatever. Let's just get to class."
Uruha picked up his back pack and left. Tora went into the school next, not trying to console Uruha, and the others were left looking surprised after them.

Tora usually got bored and distracted during class so it was a no brainer that his mind would be someplace else after the harsh exchange he had with Uruha. He wanted to be anywhere else except in class but he had promised Shou he would stop skipping.

He was supporting his jaw on his fist and staring out the window.

Uruha was really irritating him lately with his jealousy. It wasn't as if Tora gave him any specific reasons to be jealous.
"AMANO!"
Tora snapped back to reality and looked at his biology teacher, Hikawa-sensei. He looked as irritated as Tora felt but the brunette knew it was for completely different reasons. Tora's irritation subsided a little when he saw how the overgrown and hairy mole on Hikawa-sensei's cheek seemed to move upward with every breath the teacher took. Sometimes Tora thought that mole had a mind of its own.
"Beauty mark, my ass."
"I guess it would be too much to expect you to pay attention. Just being in here must be taking too much of your intellect power."
Tora frowned. He wasn't stupid even if Hikawa-sensei insisted on it since he was a junior and he sure as Hell wouldn't let anyone call him that.
"Well, I might pay more attention to the lecture if that overgrown blotch of carbonized flesh you call a mole wouldn't kidnap it all."
The brunette smirked when laughing erupted in the whole classroom.
"Don't test my patience, Amano. Alright, back to the respiratory system."
Tora leaned back in his chair, a triumphant look on his face. Amano Tora 1, Hikawa-sensei nil.

Many students choose to stay in the comfort of their own classrooms to eat their lunch but there were a fair number of people every day in the cafeteria. Shou, Akiya, Hiroto and Nao chose that day for a change of scenery. That means they were having lunch in the cafeteria.
"You're serious about tutoring Tora?" Hiroto asked before stuffing an egg roll in his mouth.
"Yeah. And he's serious about being tutored. I managed to get through to him last night." Shou answered as he opened his bento box.
"Last night?" Akiya piped up. "What exactly were you two doing last night, hmm?
Shou blushed at his friend's insinuation. "We... we talked! Jeez, Akiya, you know we live next door from each other." Hearing Nao and Hiroto's giggles Shou blushed even more. "It's true, dammit!" The three teasing friends burst out laughing and Shou resigned himself to poking his rice with his chopsticks, muttering to himself something about traitorous friends.
"Speaking of Tora, look." said Akiya with still a bit of a laugh in his voice.
Shou raised his head and watched Tora as he went around the tables fast and sat down at a table on the far end of the cafeteria with a huff.
"Maybe he got detention after being late for class... again."
Shou frowned at Nao for that remark and he got up, determined to wave at Tora and motion for him to join them. Hardly did he raise his hand when he saw a blonde sit down in front of Tora. Shou recognized him as Uruha and sat back down, knowing that he shouldn't give the blonde any more reasons to not like him.

"We need to talk."
"Do we? You seemed in a hurry to get away from me this morning." Tora replied with an indifferent tone of voice as he broke his chopsticks apart and started into his bento.
"Because I didn't want to say anything I would regret." Uruha sighed when Tora didn't say anything back. "Look, I'm sorry I'm such a jealous bastard, ok? I can't help it."
"Am I jealous when I see you hanging around with Aoi?"
"But you know Aoi. You can trust him. I don't know Shou..."
"Because you've never given him a chance." Tora interrupted him. "You labeled him as a potential threat even before you and I were together."
Uruha sighed in defeat. "Okay. I'll try to control myself."

Hiroto gave a low whistle. "He's actually standing up for you."
The cafeteria was fairly silent since not even half of it was occupied and you could hear pretty well what was being discussed. If you chose a strategic position like Shou, Hiroto, Nao and Akiya who were seated in the middle of the room, you could hear quite well.
"Please stop eavesdropping." Shou said with his head still buried in his bento box.
"Aren't you interested in what they're talking about?" Nao asked.
He raised his head and looked at Nao, who was sitting next to him. "In case you haven't noticed it's only the two of them. The others aren't around so I guess it's a private conversation. Now please, mind your own business."
When he turned his head from Nao, Shou's eyes met with Tora's. After a short time staring at each other, Shou brought his eyes back down and once more buried his face in the bento.
